Max V. Tinti, 87, of Greensburg, died Monday, November 12, 2018 in his home. He was born November 8, 1931 in Masontown, a son of the late John and Julia (Vedovato) Tinti. Prior to retirement he had been an insurance agent for American General Life Insurance Co., and before that worked as an auto mechanic. He was Protestant by faith and attended Church of the Brethren, Southwest Greensburg. He was a life member of the Southwest Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Italian Club, Masontown, and had attended the Westmoreland County Community College. Max enjoyed hunting deer every season in McKean County. He was inducted into the Fayette County Sports Hall of Fame in 2017 for playing on the 1950 championship Masontown Football team. He was also a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joanne Roth and Jean Brown. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Ann (Fetko) Tinti; two daughters, Maxine A. Blystone and husband Bruce, of Kecksburg, and Marsha L. Hearndon and husband Danny, of Smithfield; two grandchildren, Mandy Blystone and Amy Rea; three great-grandchildren, Haylee, Kaulin and Nicholas Williams; his sister, Marie Woodward, of Masontown; his cousin, Clara Andrews, of Masontown; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Gunner. Honoring Max’s request, there will be no public visitation and all funeral services will be private. LEO M.
