Matthew E. Shume, 60, of Hunker, died Friday, November 30, 2018 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born February 26, 1958 in Pittsburgh. He was a graduate of Hempfield Area High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by his mother Yvonne B. (Brown) Shume and his brother in law John W. Anderson. He is survived by his father Edward J. Shume and wife Dolores of Monroeville; his brother Joseph E. Shume, II and wife Trish of Greensburg; 3 sisters Paula S. Anderson of Pensacola, FL, Stacy S. Ligus and husband Edward of North Huntingdon, Stephanie Shume of Pleasant Unity; nephews: John M. Anderson (Megan) of Pensacola, FL; Zachary Ligus and Joshua Ligus, both of North Huntingdon; and Jordan Shume of Pleasant Unity; 1 uncle and 3 cousins.
