J.C. Gongaware

J.C. Gongaware, 69, of St. Peters, MO, formerly of Youngwood, died Saturday, April 14, 2018.  He was born August 7, 1948 in Meadville, a son of the late Jerry “Clarke” and Janet (Sanner) Gongaware.  J.C. was the owner of Gongaware Aviation and retired after working 15 years for TWA, American Airlines.  He was a member of First St. Charles United Methodist Church and a 39 year member of the Sports Car Club of America.  He was an Air Force veteran, working as a Ground Communications Specialist.  He received a Master’s degree in Aviation Safety.  J.C. also enjoyed auto racing, wine making and gardening, earning his Master Gardening Certificate.  He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Kubinec) Gongaware; his son, Jason Michael Gongaware; his sister, Diane Kinsey (Jack); two nephews, John R. Kinsey and Michael C. Kinsey; and several cousins.  Friends will be received from 10 to 11 AM Monday at the Harrold Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 671 Baltzer Meyer Pike, Greensburg where a funeral service will begin at 11 AM with the Rev. John M. Smaligo officiating.  Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park with Full Military Honors accorded by the VFW Post #33 Honor Guard.  LEO M.
