IRENE (HAWRYLAK) DONLEY
‘Well done, my good and faithful servant... Come, share your Master’s joy.’ This is the welcome Irene received when she arrived at her heavenly destination. Irene was called to rejoin her birth family on Saturday, March 31, 2018 while being comforted by her loving family. She was welcomed by her parents, John and Catherine (Mischia) Hawrylak and all of her siblings: John, Mary, Paul, Ann, George, Michael, Peter, Helen, Joseph, Elizabeth, Margaret, and Mildred along with their respective spouses. Irene was born on May 23, 1931 in Central City, Pa. the last of thirteen children. She received her education in Central City and the world around her. She spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, and caring role model - religious, happy, generous, loving, helpful, dependable, nurturing, industrious, benevolent, and peaceful - the personification of a good Christian. A faithful and involved member of Saint Paul Parish, Irene belonged to the Rosary Altar Society and participated and contributed to church and school activities. She enjoyed life and was grateful to God for her family and her life. She will be sadly missed , happily remembered and her memory will be forever cherished by her loving family - husband of sixty-one years Jerome(Jerry), daughter Susan Irene Vargo, son Stephen(wife Barrie) and five grandchildren who honored her as their Baba - Emily Anne Donley, Henry Jerome Vargo, Sean Damian Donley, Julia Irene Donley, and Rachel Irene Vargo. She will be fondly remembered as Aunt Irene by numerous nieces and nephews. The family is grateful and appreciative for the kindness and compassion shown by the staff of hospice at UPMC EAST Hospital, especially Dr. Mark Gottron, Kristy, Lauren, JoAnna, and Lenny. Family and friends will be welcomed from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Paul Parish, Greensburg. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary Altar Society of St. Paul Parish will pray the rosary at 3 PM Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St Jude’s Hospital or Alzheimer research.
