Helen (Mormack) DelleDonna

July 10, 1927 ~ October 4, 2018 (age 91)

Helen (Mormack) DelleDonna, 91, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 in Greensburg Care Center after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s.  She was born July 10, 1927 in Hostetter, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Vargovich) Mormack.  She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Sullivan “Sully” DelleDonna, her daughters, Anita Rogers and husband John, of Bedford, NH, and Pamela Lyons and husband Walter “Wally”, of Greensburg; her granddaughters, Jenna (Rogers) McKechnie and husband Tyson, of Detroit, MI, and Alexa Rogers, of Waltham, MA; her step-granddaughter, Rene (Lyons) Zundel and husband Matt, of New Alexandria; and her step-grandson, Kevin Lyons and wife Tammy, of Latrobe.  She was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Ellie Ryan McKechnie, in February of 2018.  She is also survived by her step-great-grandchildren, Hannah and Colton Zundel, and Trenessa Smolleck.  In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Paul Mormack; and two sisters, Marie (de los Santos) Strasser and Marge (Santoro) Bowman.  She will be missed by her family, friends, nieces and nephews.  Helen always had a passion for life.  A Catholic in faith, she was a parishioner of the former St. Bede Catholic Church, Bovard.  She worked at the American Cyanamide after WWII.  She will be remembered as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and woman.  She loved the outdoors and time spent in her flower and vegetable gardens, including the magnificent evergreens that surrounded her house.  Her love of animals was evident by the many kitties she adopted as they came from the fields and planted themselves on her patio.  She loved traveling and was an extraordinary cook and immaculate housekeeper.  Her stylish flair of dressing was unmatched.  She loved reading and as the years passed she also developed a passion for the slots!  There was a warmth about her and a unique sparkle in her eyes that people naturally gravitated to.  She will be missed and her memory treasured forever.  Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  A funeral liturgy will begin at 10 AM Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Earl J. Henry OSB officiating.  Entombment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.  The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Bovard Volunteer Fire Department, 2 Washington St., Bovard, PA 15619.  The family wishes to extend their thanks to the Greensburg Care Center and Grane Hospice for their compassionate care.
