Elizabeth Jane (Fowler) Tomci

Elizabeth J. Tomci “Betty”, 81, formerly of Ligonier, died May 18, 2019, at Walnut Ridge Memory Center in Greensburg. The daughter of the late Mary and George Fowler, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Dr. George Tomci and survived by her children; Dr. Thomas Tomci of Greensburg, daughter Pam Ostrander (Gary) of Charlotte, NC, Mark Tomci of Sea Brook, TX and Greg Tomci of Ocala, FL along with nine grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Betty was an avid sports fan and especially loved her Pirates and Steelers. A special memory for her was attending game 7 of the 1960 World Series where she witnessed Bill Mazeroski hit the series winning home run in the bottom of the ninth. She loved the game of golf, both playing and watching, and when she could no longer play she enjoyed riding along watching her children play. She enjoyed all kinds of games; bingo, board games, bridge and most other card games that allowed her to show her fun but competitive spirit. Her calling in life was to be a mother and grandmother, there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her family. She always put her children first and will be forever remembered for her unending love and loyalty. The family would like to thank the staff at Walnut Ridge for the loving care they gave our mother for the past 9 years.
