Dorothy M. Mahoney, 91, of Pipetown, died Friday, June 16, 2017, at her home in Unity Township. She was born Nov. 18, 1925, in Jamison, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Depto) Gratcar. Dorothy was a devoted mother and grandmother who made homemade pierogis and bread. She loved jellybeans and the Pittsburgh Penguins. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Whitney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack F. Mahoney; a daughter, Jacqueline Mahoney; and all her brothers and sisters. She is survived by seven children, Barbara Wescott, Patrick Mahoney, and wife, Nancy, Paula Bredholt, Donna Spear, and husband, Larry, Marlene Kemerer, and husband, Keith, Leonard Mahoney, and wife, Jorjette, and Rebecca Lloyd, and husband, Garnett; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Private funeral liturgy to be held at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., Pleasant Unity. Interment in St. Mary Byzantine Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township.
