Elinor Raymaley Blank Carey, 89, of Unity Township, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017. Born on March 14, 1928, in Penn Township, she is the fourth daughter of the late Leland and Leah Raymaley. Prior to her retirement from Old Republic Insurance Co., she and husband J. Marshall Blank owned and operated J.M. Blank Goat Dairy in Unity Township. She was a member of St Paul's United Church of Christ in Trauger, the Bowling Belles League, Norvelt Ladies Golf League, and OFF's Golf League. In addition to her parents, Elinor was preceded in death by her first husband, J. Marshall Blank Sr.; and her second husband, Paul Carey; two sisters, Betty Kreps and Ruth Amour; one brother, Chalmers Remaley; and dear friend, Anne Felder. She is survived by her four married children, Marsha J. Kashurba (Dennis), Jacob M. Blank Jr. (Jennifer) and Harry R. Blank (Brenda), all of Unity Township, and Mary Ann Quayle (Casey) of Redmond, Wash.; eight grandchildren, Michael Kashurba (Katrina), Kristine Steinour (William), Matthew and Katelyn Blank, Ken, Jake and Weston Quayle and Alexis Gardner (Jack, III); four great-grandchildren, Niko Kashurba, Liam and Addy Steinour and Jack Gardner IV; four sisters, Connie Ventura and Shirley Remaley of Latrobe, Grace Zimmerman (Bob), of Salem, Ohio, and Maggi Mullinnex, of Delmont; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Chris Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Penn Township. Warm thanks are extended to the many who supported Elinor and her family during her long illness. Thanks also to Charter Oak Church for the frequent visits, and also Excela Hospice Service and New Haven Court Life Stories for their loving care.
